House fire on Caroline Street

October 18, 2015

At 1247 hrs on Sunday Oct 18, Station 300 was alerted for a Structure Fire in the 3-1 Box on Caroline Street.  E-302 responded with 6 and arrived on the scene to find a one-story rambler with smoke showing.  Chief 416 (Winchester) was on the scene and took command.  E-302 had a difficult time making entry due to the packrat condition of the home.  Once inside, the crew used two 1 ¾” lines to extinguish the fire.  The overhaul was quite extensive due to the packrat condition and took crews from Company 300, 400 and 600 to complete.  Units worked for approximately 3 hours on the scene.

DVFC would like to thank Company 200 for the fill in at Station 300.
