At 2024 hours, the Company was alerted for a house fire in the 3-1 box at 607 Lincoln St. Stations 300, 400, 600, and 100 were alerted. Engine 302 and Tower 310 were quick to get on the street. Engine 302, with FF Brian Trice, arrived to find a house 50% involved, and the crew immediately stretched lines to sides alpha and charlie. Tower 310 arrived (side alpha) and assisted in getting a quick knock on the blaze. Chief Porter (315) arrived and took command. Ridgely VFC (400) and additional DVFC (300) units arrived and assisted with extinguishment, mop-up and extention of the 2nd floor.
The house was vacant, but the exposure house on side delta was occupied. Members quickly evacuated the occupants. This exposure house was less than 10 feet away from the house on fire, and was not damaged due to the quick actions of the first arriving units. The fire was under control in approx 30 minutes, Command held Companies 300 and 400 for extensive overhaul and to assist with the investigation by Maryland State Fire Marshal. Crews left the scene approx 3 hours after initial alert.
