On Wednesday June 5th 2013, Denton volunteers performed a control burn for the town. Chief Dennis Porter (315) and Asst. Chief Scott Sefton (317) led the operation, making sure everything was done safely and in a controlled fashion. Several members came out to participate and several citizens watched as well. Even though there was no live fire training some of the younger members got to maneuver handlines and learn how to read the different types of smoke. Engine 302, Tower 310 were part of the evolution and Engine 304 on standby ready for a run. The control burn was successful and all members were packed up and returned to the firehouse safely in approx. 3 hours.
