House burn provides valuable training exercise

On Saturday, March 30, Members from Caroline Fire Companies 300, 100, 600, and Talbot Co 80 participated in a live fire training exercise on Salisbury Road.  On March 22, the property owner contacted DVFC to request the controlled burn of a farm house.  The property owner requested that the burn be completed by March 30.

Several members from DVFC worked quickly and diligently to be able to take advantage of this unique opportunity to provide valuable training.  

DVFC invited several neighboring fire companies to participate in the training exercise.  The companies performed 24 live fire evolutions and a roof ventilation drill.  

After the training exercise was complete, the members executed the controlled burn of the home.

The DVFC would like to thank the property owner for this opportunity, and to thank the members of the neighboring companies that assisted with fire evolution instruction.
